Lux testing is commonly required for new lighting installations, upgrades or compliance verification. Councils, sporting associations, building certifiers and planning authorities may require lighting measurements to confirm that installations meet Australian Standards or planning permit conditions.

Lux testing is conducted on site using calibrated light meters positioned across a measurement grid. Multiple readings are taken across the area to determine average lighting levels, minimum levels and uniformity. The results are then analysed and presented in a formal compliance report.
